Engineering Specialist

Reports To

The Engineering Specialist will report to the Engineering Specialist Supervisor.   

Job Summary

The Engineering Specialist will have expertise in various engineering and project management techniques and methods and will fulfill multiple roles throughout the lifespan of a project including drawing design and review, project oversight, and manufacturing support. The Engineering Specialist will provide expertise in service to our customers and all of our various functional departments

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Fabricate various sets of drawing packages utilizing technical skills and engineering processes.
  • Review drawings to ensure alignment to specification and design and ensure drawings conform to the highest industry standards of quality.
  • Provide technical expertise for engineering support, project management, and fabrication.
  • Perform a variety of tasks to support our projects and ensure they are delivered to our customer on time and on budget.
  •  Work with and contribute in a team environment of other specialists, support staff, and engineering.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-high school education preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience with Windows-based computer, spreadsheets and other Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Proficient with CAD programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Ability to learn new skills and work in a team setting.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Project Manager II

Reports To

The Project Manager II will report to the Sr Project Manager. 

Job Overview

EP² is a custom manufacturer for power management systems for commercial and utility industries including control enclosures, protective relay panels, and control systems for power generation, transmission, and distribution. The project manager is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget for projects ensuring they meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Communicate, interact, and collaborate with customers
  • Coordinate and complete projects while managing scope, schedule, and budget
  • Understand customer specifications and requirements 
  • Manage changes to project scope, project schedule, and project budget
  • Deliver quality drawing packages to the shop and work closely with production to manufacture a quality product 
  • Problem-solve issues that arise and effectively make decisions 
  • Ensure EP² quality standards are met
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships 
  • Delegate tasks to engineering specialists and engineering team
  • Track project performance and perform lessons learned 
  • Work safely near energized equipment

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management related field with an additional one year of PM experience
  • May substitute the above requirement for 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Knowledge of CAD programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Proficient in Office programs and Google Workspace
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, organizational skills, leadership skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to oversee a small project or phase of a larger project under direct supervision of a more senior project manager
  • Full understanding of QMS system 
  • Has sufficient industry knowledge to solve problems and answer client questions  
  • Understands all tasks involved in projects
  • Able to effectively communicate both written and verbally
  • Full understanding of EP²’s quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail

Planning and Scheduling Coordinator

Reports To

The Planning and Scheduling Coordinator will report to the Planning & Scheduling Manager.

Job Overview

The Planning and Scheduling Coordinator (PSC) will oversee production planning and develop/manage schedules and delivery priorities across all product lines. This critical role develops master schedules based on customer priorities and plant capacity, utilizing applicable company business systems, tools and information. The PSC will distribute, communicate, track and manage schedules alongside Production, Quality and Engineering/Project Management Leadership. This position requires strong leadership, management and team skills. The PSC also requires a strong customer-focus and will strive for schedule compliance and on-time delivery every day.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with the planning and scheduling efforts for the entire company’s operations. 
  • Focus on accurate and detailed planning, effectively formulating plans and schedules to balance demand against available capacity.
  • Understand high-level trends and forecasts that stem from the S&OP process; from those forecasts develop relevant production plans (work to balance/level load the facility). Likewise, identify potential bottlenecks/issues and prepare plans to optimize flow and output. Escalate concerns in terms of capacity, headcount, etc. for resolution.
  • Publish, manage and maintain production schedules while balancing against inventory, resources and capacity. Adjust schedules based on operational changes. Ensure communication and understanding of schedules is always current.
  • Track schedule compliance and monitor performance/results on a real-time basis. Monitor and track all applicable delivery metrics; these include PTS (Performance-To-Schedule in production), RTS (Ready-To-Ship completion dates) and OTD (On-Time Delivery to customers).
  • Act as liaison between multiple departments to manage, maintain, control and achieve the production schedule.
  • Collaborate with leadership to monitor the status of projects to ensure customers, stakeholders, and vendors are communicated with accordingly.
  • Utilize project management software for setting up, establishing and scheduling jobs.  
  • Place high visibility on at-risk jobs and help prioritize and maintain their schedules by working directly with the production and QA teams on a daily basis.
  • Drive productivity and continuous improvement in all tasks and processes.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant college degree preferred.
  • APICS (or comparable) certification in Planning/Scheduling also preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred/desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, or similar software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other teams and team members.
  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and leadership through all departments.

Engineering Support Associate

Reports To

The Engineering Support Associate will report to the Engineering Support Supervisor.   

Job Overview

The Engineering Support Associate works with Project Managers and Engineering to provide expertise in service to our customers and all of our various functional departments. They are to perform a wide variety of tasks required by our projects and support our fabrication department from start to finish.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform quality control checks on wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and other engineer produced documents.
  • Produces various deliverables for our production shop including adhesive labels, wire markers, nameplates, and cable tags using industrial label printers.
  • Printing, reviewing, and organizing various sets of drawings and blueprints for use by our production shop.
  • Utilizes CAD software such as AutoCAD to create and update technical drawings and plans.
  • Run and maintain laser engraving machines to produce various placards and nameplates.
  • Perform Document Control related tasks such as stamping and folding drawings, archiving data, and managing revisions.
  • Performs record keeping duties such as scanning drawings and organizing files and folders on our network.

Quality Control Inspector

Reports To

The Quality Control Inspector reports to the Quality Control Supervisor.    

Job Overview

The Quality Control Inspector will inspect panels and enclosures throughout the production process as they go through the different departments of Electrical Power Products, Inc. These departments include steel, paint, mounting, wiring, enclosures, and shipping.
