Production Leader

Reports To

The Production Leader will report to the Vice President of Operations. 

Job Summary
At Electrical Power Products (EP2), we believe Quality Assurance always equates to Customer Satisfaction. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a key segment of the company’s production operations! EP2 Production Leaders oversee key production departments, processes and employees while monitoring job performance and productivity. The key focus will be on safety, quality, cost and customer delivery. This person will be responsible for leading people, managing production, coaching teams, resolving issues, and driving overall performance. This person will continue to cultivate a culture of teamwork, results and customer commitment.  We are seeking an individual who wants to be an impact player, who wants to grow and who wants to be a big part of our continued success story!

Responsibilities and Duties

  •  Lead Safety in all areas of the department(s). #1 Priority.
  • Bring a customer-driven and quality focus to the entire team.
  • Set performance goals and deadlines that align with the plans and vision of Electrical Power Products, Inc.’s plans and vision, and communicate this to the team.  Meet daily and weekly production targets and goals. 
  • Own, manage and lead successful completion of production schedules.
  • Drive First Time Quality and build products to company/customer specifications.
  • Organize workflow and ensure employees understand their duties and tasks. Ensure projects are resourced and monitor progress through successful completion.
  • Monitor employee productivity while providing constructive feedback. 
  • Receive complaints and resolve issues that may arise. Grow teamwork, coordination, cooperation and communication.
  • Act as liaison between senior management and the department employees. 
  • Hire and train new employees. Embrace and promote growth and development.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need presents itself. 

Qualifications

  • BS degree in engineering, business or equivalent strongly preferred. Other education and/or comparable experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience as a manager, supervisor or relevant role in a manufacturing and production environment.  Passion for leadership. Strong leadership presence and influence.
  • Strong combination of leadership, job functional skills and organizational skills a must.
  • Experience in large scale manufacturing environment (make-to-order experience preferred). Strong understanding of best manufacturing practices (standardized work, Lean, flow, 5S, continuous improvement, etc.).
  • Possesses general working knowledge of electrical-mechanical components, installation, assembly. Mechanically inclined and aptitude to learn our products.
  • Comfortable on both the shop floor and in the office environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Strong presence.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.  Results-oriented.
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams and team members.  Coach/mentor.

Physical Requirements

  • Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for the regular operation of a computer.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, or otherwise move about regularly.
  • Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing production physical hazards.

Quality Manager

Job Summary

The Quality Manager is a critical member of the EP2 leadership team…responsible for leading and growing a culture of quality and performance excellence every day! This is an exciting role…providing daily leadership for the continued development, execution and improvement of company quality systems, processes, procedures and instructions. This person will lead all QA and QC functions, ensure all products meet customer specifications and direct the plant’s Business Management System (ISO compliance programs, documentation programs, and internal audit process). This position will establish quality priorities and objectives while executing Quality Assurance strategies and tactical plans. This person will ensure ongoing compliance with all corporate guidelines, regulatory and customer requirements.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Reports: QA Manager, BMS Manager, Testing Supervisor, QC Supervisor
  • Meets department strategic and tactical goals and manages all key department metrics
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department (maintain all schedules)
  • Develops staffing plans and oversees hiring, training and performance management of team
  • Grows team capability through training, development, certifications
  • Focus on “best in industry” results and continual improvement 
  • Ongoing assessment and improvement of department tools, software and equipment

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality and function before shipping
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards for processes and products
  • Communicates quality standards to QA team, Project Managers, production and other appropriate staff
  • Coordinates product inspection and testing processes
  • Assists Project Managers with technical and other project related questions
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, defects, and other problems, and recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues if necessary
  • Performs final Admin inspections and sign-off on the finished product
  • Drives company towards ISO Certification through BMS implementation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Relevant certifications or training preferred (i.e., ASQ)
  • Experience implementing ISO compliant systems, policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous speaking, hearing, and visual effort including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and handling
  • Commonly lifting/moving of up to 40 lbs. individually
  • Occasionally lifting/moving 50-100 lbs. with assistance
  • Exposure to loud noises, drilling, cutting, banging, and typical manufacturing production physical hazards
  • Prolonged periods of walking and standing
  • Ability to climb a ladder

Assistant Controller

Reports To

The Assistant Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Job Summary
The Assistant Controller will be responsible for a wide variety of transactional and

reporting accounting duties. The Assistant Controller assist the Chief Financial Officer

with preparation of GAAP financial statements along with various projects and

accounting tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with month-end closing and monthly financial statement preparation.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation.
  • Assist with ERP software implementation and maintenance.
  • Develop, analyze and communicate KPI reports for Managers in various departments.
  • Accounts Payable processing including entry of payables and the processing of checks including the verification of cash requirements.
  • Multi-State sales tax reconciliation and remittance.
  • Assist with daily cash needs and reporting.
  • Review banking transactions.
  • Process General Ledger reconciliations and Journal entry transactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Prior experience of 5 years or more in an accounting role.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • Construction Accounting experience or Percentage of Completion revenue recognition preferred.
  • Software implementation experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
